Plastic People

I was trying to create a believable face using a photo mixing technique. I then cleaned up by adding a background and trying to even out the colours on the face.

Star Trek

I set myself the task of creating a digital manipulation of the original star trek cast with the new cast. I hoped to learn how to create a convincing outcome in the style of the promotional images from the posters.

I found doing the Uhura digital manipulation harder because the images I used weren't a high enough resolution for it to blend in.

Once I finished manipulating the faces, I used dodging and burning on the faces. Then I used a colour overlay and then added noise to the overall image to give it more texture.

Trying different background ground colours. I think the grey would work well in a well in an open space.

I opened a photo I had taken down the beach.
I started to clone in some more of the blurred green as it seemed to be an interesting part of the photo.
I then took another part of a different photo that was in focus. I duplicated the layer and started to do different blurs.
I then started to clone, erase, blur and smudge in the bottom part getting the colours to blend.
I got some more from a different photo and worked that into the background between the blurring of the focus layers.
I used the brush and tried different affects until the background sunk further.
I then merged the layers and tried different colours. I picked the yellows to come out more.
I also added reds and purples on different layers blending it in. I also added a bright blue to make the dome stand out and to make it look like something out of this world; perhaps building of some kind.
I then tried different star trek shuttles in different positions changing their colours to fit in with the background.
