I spent the day painting. I managed to do the rest of the bottom half that needed to blurred. I stopped when parts of it needed to be sharper as to not get any of the parts I didn't want accidentally blurred. There is a red part that really stands bout because it wasn't blurred enough when I was working on it last. So will need to re-work into it when the rest is dry. Perhaps scraping off some of the paint. I think I will need to go over the darker purple/blues as they aren't as dark as they need to, to stand out. The bottom left corner of dark colours stand out more the right side, which is also another reason.

We had contextual studies. I was a right numpty and was waiting at the wrong bus stop. I thought all the buses came around to that stop after 8am, but it's 9am. I was only 8 minuets late and didn't miss much of the lesson. We were going over some material we had last time, and I'm more confident in the timeline of how things happened. We were talking about what classification that this era of art is called, post-modern, or we have already moved out of that, which would be post-post-modern, or we are in something new entirely. There is a mixture of movements going on at the moment, people are doing what they want as there aren't clear boundaries at this time. We are in a mishmash of historical movement existing at once, the variety movement, or world movement. Global connects are enabling artists to become world wide, seeing and participating in them. Could art possibly go into a more commercialised public driven form?
We had a meeting about the show, and we agreed on a layout for the poster by voting. I have noticed as the deadline for the show gets nearer, tension in the group is on the increase. It's strange how different people cope with pressure, however, when the group is getting this negative sort of tension I don't feel as energised and inspired to do things, like willingly wanting to do them, but forcing myself because it's part of the course. Having stressed people around me working in a group has a very negative impact on my work ethic and stops my creativity flowing freely. I probably should have done everything I needed to set up before it got to this point, because this is the same type of stress that happened in the Canterbury festival.

I made some swirling patterns to get some texture into the middle part. I am going to go over it with a wash and get these colours to come through underneath.
I was concentrating on getting the brighter colours in the corner.
When painting I was wondering if there wasn't enough of the brighter pinks that I was putting in. But I think I will have a full decision by the time I have finished the middle and start to go over it with the wax medium. When making the darker colours I'm basing them in the red hues of brown to enhance the hot pink colours.
I think the green that Anna, and some other students picked up on was resolved more by putting in a bright red to balance it out, as these colours are on the opposite side of the colour spectrum. I think I still may put some darker greens in it to give it more form instead a mass of green. I'm still not sure about the cream area, but I will have a fuller picture when the middle mass of white is filled in.
Before I left the painting, I blended the top colours so they didn't look as harsh and was part of the same painting.

I walked down to castle arts with Lynsey to ask about work experience again. When talking with them, I found my e-mail I had sent went straight into the spam box, which is why they didn't contact me. The owner wasn't there at the time of our visit but we both gave our CVs to them. Anna suggested we ask for work experience together as it would only be a weeks inconvenience of having us. But there might not be enough work for the both of us to do.
I continued painting, I am still noticing colours I didn't pick up on when I started mixing the colours so I was adding new ones.
We had a mini tutorial on making portfolios, and I need to get a nice looking folder, some plastic wallets, and select some work that I want in it. Also with my qualifications, and CV.
